Football: Burkinabe Stéphane Aziz Ki Extends his journey with young Africans in NBC Premier
The talented Burkinabe footballer Stéphane Aziz Ki, who has been at the heart of Young Africans’ (Yanga SC) exceptional performances in the NBC Premier League, has decided to extend his contract with the Tanzanian club.
Despite interest from clubs such as Al Ahly, Mamelodi Sundowns, Orlando Pirates, Kaizers Chiefs, Wydad Casablanca, and Pyramids, Aziz Ki chose to remain loyal to Yanga SC, signing a new two-year deal.
With 12 caps for the national team, Stéphane Aziz Ki has established himself as a key player for the Tanzanian side. His exploits over the past two seasons have been crucial for Young Africans’ dominance in the NBC Premier League. Last season, Aziz Ki finished as the league’s top scorer with 21 goals and was named Player of the Season, cementing his status as a rising star in African football.
The negotiations for his contract extension were not straightforward. Yanga SC had to make considerable efforts to convince the player’s camp, which was being courted by numerous high-profile clubs. Stéphane Aziz Ki’s agent traveled to Tanzania to finalize the contract details and oversee other important matters, such as the transfer of Valentin Nouma to Simba SC.
Stéphane Aziz Ki’s decision to stay at Yanga SC strengthens the club’s position as a dominant force in Tanzanian football.
