Football : FIFA announces unexpected bad news for Algeria

The FIFA recently shared disappointing news regarding Algeria in anticipation of the tournament scheduled for mid-March.

The organization of the upcoming edition of the FIFA Series tournament in Algeria, scheduled for the March international break, raises major concerns regarding its financing. Contrary to common beliefs, the FIFA president did not mention financial aspects other than the expected revenues from ticket sales, event sponsorship, broadcasting rights, and operational costs covered by FIFA.

A source within FIFA revealed to the “BOTOLA” media outlet that the tournament organizers will not receive direct funding for the event. However, FIFA will cover the costs associated with the organization, such as transportation, accommodation, catering, and other logistical aspects, in accordance with a detailed specification.

These revelations contradict allegations that federations such as the South African Football Association (SAFA) would benefit from direct financial support from FIFA.

Sources close to SAFA had previously suggested that federations could benefit from their participation in the event. Nevertheless, it appears that direct financial gains will not materialize, at least in terms of financial gains.
