Football/France : PSG Forced to Recruit Two Players !
While Luis Campos thought he had done the job with Beraldo and Moscardo, bad news has been piling up for PSG in recent days. Skriniar’s injury and the potential departure of Mukiele force PSG to recruit in defense.
Anticipation is often the key to a successful transfer window. Luis Campos could rub his hands together by securing the arrival of two Brazilians, defender Lucas Beraldo and midfielder Gabriel Moscardo, even before the winter transfer market opened. However, the first setback came when the latter had to undergo surgery, preventing his official announcement as a new PSG player. While this initial setback did not significantly change the face of PSG’s transfer window, the subsequent events have altered the situation.
The PSG sporting advisor believed he had covered the extended absence of Presnel Kimpembe by recruiting Beraldo. However, how could he anticipate Milan Skriniar’s injury against Toulouse in the Trophée des Champions ? Absent for 3 to 4 months, the Slovak will miss crucial matches for PSG, forcing the management to recruit another central defender.
But that’s not all. A second unpredictable factor has emerged. As reported by L’Équipe and confirmed by us, Bayern Munich is keen to sign Nordi Mukiele in January.
The versatile defender, capable of playing on the right and in the center (and also on the left when needed), is highly appreciated by Thomas Tuchel, who had already wanted to sign him during his time at Chelsea. Bayern is aggressively pursuing the 26-year-old defender, signed a year and a half ago from RB Leipzig. PSG will agree only if they find a replacement for him.
This adds a second defensive signing to be made by January 31 ! Luis Campos has already been exploring several options in recent days. The name of Kevin Danso has been mentioned. According to our information, there has been some indirect approach, but RC Lens has made it clear that their defender is non-transferable. The northern club had already resisted numerous advances during the summer transfer window.
PSG has several names in mind, cases that have been worked on in the past that could be activated in January. This includes Leny Yoro, the promising talent from LOSC, or Jean-Clair Todibo from OGC Nice, courted by the cream of English football. Luis Campos is also looking abroad, as a compatriot of Milan Skriniar, named David Hancko, has been approached. At 26, he is left-footed and can also play as a full-back. However, Feyenoord, his club, may not be willing to release him in January.
Other options have been mentioned by the European press in recent days, such as Antonio Silva (Benfica Lisbon), Gonçalo Inacio (Sporting Portugal), or even Raphael Varane. What is certain is that PSG is actively seeking a new central defender and a right-back in this winter transfer window. And it’s not for lack of anticipation !
