Football: Karim Benzema returns to Real Madrid
After a challenging season in Saudi Arabia, where he was recruited by Al-Ittihad last summer, Karim Benzema is once again rumored to be returning to Real Madrid. Last summer, Karim Benzema surprised many by deciding to leave Real Madrid for another club.
This feeling was further reinforced when he was among the group of players departing for Saudi Arabia. The season has not been easy for the 2022 Ballon d’Or winner, with injuries preventing him from reaching his full potential (similar to his last season with the Blancos). Throughout the season, Benzema has regularly returned to Madrid, and Al-Ittihad has confirmed that he has done so once again.
This information was confirmed by Al-Ittihad officials, who stated in a press release that Benzema was undergoing a treatment plan at Real Madrid’s training complex in Valdebebas. Medical professionals from both clubs have been in regular dialogue as they aim to help the Frenchman recover as effectively as possible.
Benzema will remain at Real Madrid until next week, at which point he will return to Saudi Arabia to rejoin his Al-Ittihad teammates, who are preparing to play the last five matches of their season.
