Kylian Mbappé admits that it’s better to play with Lionel Messi at PSG than without.
Lionel Messi is no longer at PSG. Last summer, after two years in the French capital, the Argentine chose to seek a new adventure. At the end of his contract, he joined America and the Inter Miami club. It cannot be claimed that the separation occurred under good conditions.
Saying that Messi left a big void within the Parisian team would be an exaggeration. Nevertheless, the French champions miss La Pulga. With his goals and the assists he could provide, the Argentine was very valuable to the team. The first to acknowledge this truth is none other than Kylian Mbappé, his former attacking partner.
Speaking on Prime Video, the French forward admitted that having Messi by his side is always better. « Not playing with Messi, you always miss it! For a forward like me who likes to exploit spaces, with him, you go with the certainty that you can get the ball. It was a luxury that almost only he could give you » ! he declared.
« Beyond that, playing with Messi was special » ! added the Bondy-born star, as if to emphasize that there was no competition between them.
Without Messi, PSG seems a bit less dangerous offensively. However, Mbappé is not worried. He is confident that over time, his team will become irresistible again. “It’s a whole process. There have been new players, a new coach. With a new philosophy. We are starting to understand what he asks of us and what he wants. We are starting to see the beginnings of something, and when it clicks, it will roll.”
