Football: Michel Dussuyer resumes service in a new role with Guinea’s Syli national team
Former head coach of Guinea’s national football team, Michel Dussuyer, is making a comeback in Guinean football, but this time in a new role. Following the national team’s disappointing performance at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, the Guinean Football Federation (Feguifoot) decided to dismiss Kaba Diawara from his position as head coach.
To steer the team back on track and inject fresh momentum into the senior national team, Feguifoot has established a Directorate to manage the team. This Directorate is overseen by Michel Dussuyer, who brings extensive experience and a deep understanding of Guinean football. However, he will not be working alone.
Kanfory Lappé Bangoura, the current National Technical Director, and Charles Paquille, a former assistant coach of the Syli National, join Dussuyer in this Directorate. Souleymane Camara, known as “Abédi”, rounds out the team as an assistant to Charles Paquille, bringing his expertise and experience to strengthen the collective effort.
The Directorate’s mandate will extend until November 2024, covering the crucial period of the CAN 2025 qualifiers. This new structure aims to bring stability and improved performance to the national team, with the goal of restoring hope to supporters and effectively preparing the Syli National for upcoming challenges.
