Ivory Coast: Actor Stéphane Zabavy, known as Flame, has passed away

A few days after the departure of singer and comedian Marcel Dan, Ivory Coast mourns once again the loss of a prominent figure. This time, it is actor, singer, and screenwriter Stéphane Zabavy, known as Flame, who became famous for his role in the movie “Jusqu’au bout”.

The announcement was made public on Thursday, November 21, 2024, via social media by several local media outlets. According to these sources, the actor passed away following a stroke.

“Ivorian cinema has lost one of its most remarkable talents today, Stéphane Zabavy. His authentic acting, his on-screen presence, and his ability to portray roles with rare depth made him an indispensable figure in the 7th art in Ivory Coast”, stated Media100Filtre on its X (formerly Twitter) account.

The same tone was echoed by Pulse Côte d’Ivoire, which tragically reported: “It is with great sadness that we have just learned of the death of actor Stéphane Zabavy on November 21”.

This shocking news saddened many internet users, who offered their heartfelt condolences to his family.

To remind, the year 2024 has been marked by numerous bereavements, especially in the Ivorian showbiz. Among the losses were Anaconda, a famous columnist from the PPLK show, Marie-Dominique Kacou, and Théa Dogbo Valérie, also known as Valérie from the Espoir 2000 group.

We extend our sincere condolences to the grieving families.
