La Liga: Kylian Mbappé presented to Real Madrid supporters
The long-awaited day has finally arrived. A few weeks after leaving Paris Saint-Germain, Kylian Mbappé is officially a Real Madrid player. The French international, presented by the Madrid club this Tuesday, held his first press conference immediately afterward with a message for the merengues supporters.
“A childhood dream”, Kylian Mbappé has finally realized his dream. The captain of the French national team will play for Real Madrid next season. He hopes to fully live this dream while respecting the values of his “heart club”.
“I am very humble because I am joining the biggest club in the world. The goals are to respect its values. The priority today is to integrate into the team. I hope it will go well,” Kylian Mbappé told the press before discussing his position on the field. “I will play where the coach puts me. In Paris, I played all three positions. In Monaco as well. The important thing is to be in good physical shape. The position where I will play is a detail “, he explained.
Presented in front of a crowd of about 80.000 spectators at the Santiago Bernabeu, Kylian Mbappé could once again feel the love from Real Madrid fans. But the top scorer in PSG’s history remains grounded and aims to repay this love with good performance on the field.
“I am nobody yet at Real; I haven’t played a single match. Such a welcome even though I haven’t done anything here yet is incredible. Thank you to the supporters. I want to show on the field what I can do”, continued Mbappé, who hopes to be ready to make his debut with Real Madrid during the UEFA Super Cup on August 14th.
“We talked this morning with the club’s medical team. We’ll see what we do. I hope to play the Super Cup match, but it’s up to the coach to decide. I will get to work to play the first match”, added Mbappé, who has taken the number 9, left free by a certain Karim Benzema.
