The Communication Ministers of the member countries of the Sahel States Confederation (AES) gathered this Sunday in Bamako, Mali, to validate the expert work related to the establishment of modern communication tools.

On the agenda were the validation of the digital portal, Web TV, graphic charter, as well as the creation of a dedicated television channel and radio for the Union. This meeting, attended by Gilbert Pingwendé Ouédraogo of Burkina Faso, Sidi Mohamed Raliou of Niger, and Alhamdou AG Ilyène of Mali, was praised for the quality of the technical proposals.

The ministers unanimously approved the presented documents, emphasizing their importance in harmonizing communication tools and strengthening the visual identity of the AES. According to Alhamdou AG Ilyène, Mali’s Minister of Communication, these tools will help counter disinformation while spreading messages focused on raising awareness and integration among member states.

For Gilbert Pingwendé Ouédraogo, the Burkinabe Minister, it is crucial for technicians to continue working in synergy to ensure regular updates of the platforms and produce high-quality content that promotes the AES’s image. He also encouraged the experts to be innovative and creative to further enhance the visibility of the common space.

The ministers particularly emphasized the strategic importance of these media channels, not only to strengthen ties between the populations of the three countries but also to project a positive image of the Confederation internationally.

The conclusions of this meeting will be submitted to the heads of state of the three member nations for approval. This initiative marks a decisive step toward more unified and effective communication within the AES, in response to the challenges posed by disinformation and the growing needs for regional integration.

Thus, the Sahel States Confederation is gradually equipping itself with the necessary tools to assert its position on the regional and international stage, while strengthening the cooperative ties between its members.
