Mali Aiglonnets win U-17 World Cup in Indonesia

The Minister of Youth and Sports of Mali, Abdoul Kassim Ibrahim Fomba, has called upon the population of Bamako to warmly welcome the Aiglonnets, the national U-17 football team, on Monday, December 4th, 2023, starting at 3 p.m. This invitation follows the team’s brilliant performance, securing third place at the U-17 World Cup in Indonesia by defeating Argentina 3-0.

The minister emphasized that this honorable achievement reflects the commitment and talent of the young players, as well as the Malian Football Federation’s dedication to showcasing Mali’s colors on the international stage. The Aiglonnets have become a source of pride for the entire African continent due to their technical skill and resilience.

On behalf of the Transitional President, Colonel Assimi Goïta, the government, the Malian people, and the national sports movement, the minister extended heartfelt congratulations to the players and their coaching staff for this exceptional performance that brings honor to Mali and all of Africa.

The minister also assured that the Malian government, in collaboration with the Malian Football Federation, will make every effort to ensure that the national team of Aiglonnets receives the special recognition it deserves for its bronze medal.
