Mali/Anti-terrorist fight: “The FAMa stay the course on the frontlines,” according to the Director of DIRPA
The Malian Armed Forces (FAMa) continue with determination their mission of defending and securing Malian territory, as well as protecting their fellow citizens and their property. The Director of Information and Public Relations of the Armed Forces (DIRPA), Colonel-major Souleymane DEMBELE, affirmed this week that “the FAMa are staying the course with the pursuit of terrorist armed groups (GAT) and the destruction of their sanctuaries”.
He made this statement during the monthly press conference, which provided a report on the operations on the ground against terrorist armed groups. According to the report for October, compiled by the Malian military leadership, the security situation was marked by an intensification of pressure from the FAMa on their enemies, the GAT. This has led to a significant reduction in terrorist attacks on Malian soil.
Military actions have notably led to the neutralization of several criminals, the recovery of significant war materials and drugs, and the destruction of terrorist bases. In total, 17 offensive reconnaissance missions and 44 airstrikes were carried out against the wrongdoers, and 4 arrests were made during October 2024, according to the report.
Despite certain incidents recorded during their October operations, the combatants’ commitment and determination remained unwavering. This demonstrates the fighters’ resolve to struggle with tenacity and resilience for the liberation of the entire Malian territory, the complete neutralization of the forces of evil, and citizen protection. This will ultimately facilitate the effective and harmonious development of the country.
