Mali/Counter-terrorism: In Nampala, the FAMa inflict a heavy beating on bush enemies

In Mali, terrorist armed groups continuing their criminal activities, particularly in Ounguel in the Nampala region and surrounding areas, have seen their power decimated following a severe blow dealt by the Malian Armed Forces (FAMa). An official statement dated Sunday, October 27, reports that over forty terrorists have been neutralized.

This is one of many achievements by the FAMa, carried out last week during offensive operations, according to the Mali General Staff. A first operation conducted on Thursday, October 24, in Ounguel reportedly resulted in the destruction of “an enemy base and the neutralization of about thirty terrorists”, as stated by the Malian military hierarchy.

During this initial operation, weapons, ammunition, and 24 motorcycles were also seized. The second offensive operation, carried out on Friday, October 25, “led to the elimination of around ten terrorists, along with the recovery of various materials, including pickups and motorcycles”. This showcases the professionalism and bravery of the Malian armed forces, which have been praised by military leaders.

The General Staff reaffirms the firm commitment and determination of the FAMa to secure the national territory and protect people and property. This mission is guided by the unwavering resolve of the country’s authorities to restore freedom and sovereignty, in close collaboration with the Malian people who are devoted to peace and stability.
