Mali : Food support from the transitional president to the High Islamic Council during Ramadan
During this sacred month of Ramadan, His Excellency Colonel Assimi GOÏTA, President of the Transition, donated 200 food kits to the High Islamic Council of Mali (HCIM). This initiative aims to support Muslim faithful in need so they can observe this holy month under the best conditions.
As part of his social actions, the President of the Transition is intensifying efforts in favor of the most vulnerable, notably by providing assistance to national religious organizations. After granting donations to the Christian community approaching Lent, the Head of State offered these 200 food kits to the Muslim community through the High Islamic Council.
These kits include a variety of food items such as rice, sugar, pasta, oil, dates, copies of the Quran, and rosaries.
The donation ceremony took place on Thursday, March 14, 2024, at the headquarters of the HCIM, under the supervision of Mr. Aguibou DEMBELE, Special Advisor to the President of the Transition in charge of social actions. In the presence of the Minister of Religious Affairs, Worship, and Customs, Dr. Mahamadou KONE, as well as other senior officials, this initiative was praised by Dr. Seydou Mady SYLLA, President of the National Conference of Ulamas, who expressed gratitude on behalf of the HCIM.
Mr. Aguibou DEMBÉLÉ, Special Advisor to the President of the Transition Colonel Assimi GOÏTA, emphasized that this generous act is in line with the President’s commitment to social actions. He also specified that this assistance will benefit 2.000 vulnerable households across the country, thus highlighting the importance of solidarity and unity for the well-being of all Malians.
