Mali: Mali honours BAYKAR society by awarding honours to its members

On October 18, 2023, the President of the Transition of Mali, Colonel Assimi GOITA, received a delegation from the Turkish company BAYKAR, specialized in the design of drones and unmanned aerial systems. At this hearing, four BAYKAR members were awarded honours in recognition of their contributions in the field of drones.

Two personalities of BAYKAR, Mr. Esref EVLIYAOGLU and Mr. Adem CAN, were appointed Knights of the National Order of Mali in a foreign capacity. As for Mr. Selçuk BAYRAKTAR, Turkish engineer, and Mr. Lütfü Haluk BAYRAKTAR, President and CEO of BAYKAR, they were distinguished as Officers of the National Order of Mali in a foreign capacity.

These distinctions symbolize the official recognition of BAYKAR’s contribution to the Republic of Mali in the field of drones and unmanned aerial systems. They also reflect the strength of the cooperation and partnership between Mali and Turkey, particularly through BAYKAR, in the defence and security sector. This collaboration focuses on the development and use of drones for military or civilian purposes.

BAYKAR, founded in 1984 by Selçuk Bayraktar, has become a major player in the military and civilian drone industry, and this official recognition underlines the importance of its role in this cooperation between the two countries.
