On February 2nd, 2024, Dr. Alfousseyni Diawara, the Minister-Secretary General of the Presidency, presided over the inauguration ceremony of the new hangar dedicated to the presidential plane.
The event was attended by the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Mrs. Dembélé Madina Sissoko, the Coordinator of the Presidential Air Group, the CEO of Mali Airports, the Administrative and Financial Director of the Presidency, as well as heads of departments from the Office of the President.
The inaugurated facilities reflect the vision of the Transitional President, Colonel Assimi Goïta, to equip the President Modibo Keïta International Airport with state-of-the-art equipment and infrastructure. Entirely funded from the national budget, the construction works were carried out with remarkable technical precision and attention to detail.
The hangar, covering an area of 2295 square meters and with a double slope, was specifically designed to accommodate the presidential plane, with a height of 19 meters. The ancillary facilities include warehouses, air-conditioned offices, a meeting room, and sanitary facilities, thus providing a complete environment for presidential operations.
This project, completed in just six months, was achieved through fruitful collaboration among the technical services of Mali Airports, the Presidential Air Group, and the administrative and financial department of the presidency, all playing a crucial role in its implementation and success.
Dr. Alfousseyni Diawara, the Minister-Secretary General of the Presidency, praised the achievement of the hangar meeting international standards, carried out by the company EA BTP, led by a Malian, and with a team entirely composed of Malian professionals.
He also expressed satisfaction with the Presidential Air Group and the administrative and financial department of the presidency for their quick mobilization of financial resources. « It is a source of pride to know that the presidential plane is entirely piloted and equipped by Malians », he emphasized.
