Mali: President Assimi GOÏTA receives the general director of ASECNA to discuss the state of aerial navigation
The President of the Transition, His Excellency Colonel Assimi GOÏTA, held a meeting earlier this week with Mr. Mohamed Moussa, Director General of the Agency for Aerial Navigation Safety in Africa and Madagascar (ASECNA). This meeting allowed the Director General of ASECNA to present a comprehensive overview of the state of aerial navigation after three years marked by complex challenges.
During this meeting, Mr. Mohamed Moussa provided a detailed report on the current conditions in the field of aerial navigation in Africa. He highlighted the significant progress made in Mali, particularly in terms of equipment modernization and the strengthening of technical capacities. These advancements demonstrate sustained efforts to improve the safety and efficiency of aerial navigation in the region.
However, despite these achievements, challenges remain. Mohamed Moussa emphasized the urgent needs for infrastructure and personnel training, which are essential elements to ensure safe and reliable aerial navigation. The Director General of ASECNA also discussed the issues related to regional coordination and the integration of advanced technologies into air traffic management systems.
President Assimi GOÏTA expressed his appreciation for ASECNA’s efforts and reaffirmed Mali’s commitment to closely collaborate with the agency to overcome the existing challenges. He also underscored the importance of aerial navigation for the economic development and connectivity of the country and the region.
This meeting strengthened the cooperation between Mali and ASECNA, focusing on future priorities to improve aeronautical infrastructure and the training of industry professionals. Discussions also addressed strategies to mobilize additional resources and attract investments in the field of aerial navigation.
