Mali/Security: Alleged FAMa atrocities, RFI in its misleading information
The reason a media outlet would publicize information it’s not sure about its accuracy, and knowing well that it could disturb the peace of an entire people, might indeed stem from malicious intent seeking to sow disorder in a country. It’s not surprising when it comes from French media outlets, which have targeted the countries of the AES space.
They are reputed for disseminating false information, especially concerning the three countries comprising the AES, which have decided to take their destiny into their own hands. In recent weeks, these French media outlets have taken advantage of misunderstandings between Malian authorities and their Mauritanian counterparts to capitalize on and focus their energy on the FAMa.
After using the statements of Mauritanian authorities to their advantage, it’s time for them to move to the next level, opening the breach of discord and division among Malian citizens. Hence, the recent publication by RFI dated Wednesday, May 15, 2024, concerning a certain video in which an alleged Malian Lieutenant Colonel confesses to the abuses of Malian armed forces against civilians.
The article, written in the conditional tense, clearly demonstrates that the author does not have all the information and, worse, is not entirely sure of the veracity of the published information. This is an old strategy used by these media outlets to lend a hand to their authorities who want to undermine sovereignty and peace in these countries that reject French supremacy.
These defamations aimed at demoralizing or sowing trouble in Mali, as well as in other AES countries, must not in any way shake the determination and commitment of these peoples who are fighting for their true sovereignty, dignity, and prosperity. The struggle already begun must continue and be completed, no matter the tribulations. The future of these countries will depend on the determination of the present generation.
