Mali/Social Works: Several New Ambulances for the Health Sector
The transitional President, Head of State, Colonel Assimi GOÏTA, has once again let his generous heart speak for the benefit of those in need. As part of his social welfare program, a total of thirty-three (33) new and well-equipped ambulances have been donated to the Ministry of Health.
According to information, these medicalized vehicles will be deployed in hospitals and reference health centers in 10 regions of Mali as well as in the Bamako district. This demonstrates the Transitional President’s commitment to strengthening the operational capacities of health districts, particularly in terms of referral and evacuation.
This donation of ambulances consists of 23 4X4 vehicles and 10 van-type vehicles. This initiative aims to expand the range of health services and contribute to the efficiency and speed of the missions of health districts, according to the Special Advisor to the Transitional President, Mr. Aguibou DEMBÉLÉ.
As for the Minister of Health and Social Development, Colonel Assa Badiallo TOURÉ, this donation is of paramount importance since these vehicles will effectively contribute to the fight against maternal and neonatal mortality.
According to her, this initiative marks a significant step in strengthening the healthcare system nationwide. It’s worth noting that within the framework of the social programs initiated by the President of the Republic, several achievements have been made and numerous donations provided.
These include the drilling of 304 wells, the delivery of 225 tricycles, 75 ambulances, 16 transformation kits, as well as 710 boxes of chalk handed over to teaching academies in Bamako. Also, a total of 1,000 families have already benefited from the distribution of food kits.
