The Head of State of Mali, Colonel Assimi Goita, received a Russian ministerial delegation at the Koulouba Palace over the past weekend, marking a significant milestone in the relations between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Mali, as announced by the Malian presidency.

The objective of this meeting was clear: to exchange ideas and reassure Malian authorities about the imminent dispatch of Russian experts in various sectors. This mission aims to assess opportunities to strengthen bilateral cooperation between the two nations.

According to Bamako, the upcoming weeks in Mali will witness an increased dynamism with the successive arrival of Russian experts specialized in key sectors such as energy, transportation, telecommunications, and mining. The primary goal of this initiative is to swiftly translate commitments into tangible actions, addressing the major challenges faced by the Malian people.

Following the meeting at the Koulouba Palace, significant decisions were made. Over the next two weeks, a team of Russian experts will arrive in Bamako to assess the Malian energy system and other strategic sectors such as mining, railway traffic, telecommunication networks, and more. In the agricultural domain, inputs will be promptly provided to support Malian farmers, thereby enhancing economic cooperation between the two nations.
