Mali: The President of the Transition, Assimi GOÏTA, Receives the cotton producers confederation

In Mali, His Excellency Colonel Assimi GOÏTA, President of the Transition, recently granted an audience to a delegation from the Malian Cotton Producers Confederation. Led by its President, Yakouba TRAORÉ, the delegation came to present the new board of the Confederation and submit various crucial concerns for the sector.

The meeting, held in the presence of the Minister of Agriculture, Mr. Lassine DEMBELE, emphasized the importance the Transitional authorities place on agriculture and the cotton sector, which is considered a cornerstone of the Malian economy.

The Confederation’s delegation used this audience to introduce the members of the new executive board. These leaders expressed their expectations and concerns regarding the current challenges in the cotton sector. Among the submitted grievances were the need for increased support to improve productivity, storage infrastructure, and marketing mechanisms.

The presence of the Minister of Agriculture, Mr. Lassine DEMBELE, at this meeting highlights the commitment of the Transitional authorities to revitalize Malian agriculture. The cotton sector, which plays a key role in the national economy, receives special attention to ensure its sustainable growth and development.

The President of the Transition, Colonel Assimi GOÏTA, reaffirmed his administration’s support for the cotton sector. He emphasized the importance of this sector not only for the economy but also for social stability and rural development.
