Niger: Brigadier General Abdourahamane Tiani at war against economic, financial and fiscal crime

The authorities in Niger have announced the creation of an anti-corruption commission. Brigadier General Abdourahamane Tiani signed an order establishing a commission to combat economic, financial, and tax-related crime.

The members of this body and two new commissions took an oath before Brigadier General Abdourahamane Tiani.

The main mission of this commission is the recovery of all illegally acquired or misappropriated public assets. This decision embodies one of the strong commitments made by President Abdourahamane Tiani to combat corruption, impunity, misappropriation of public assets, and poor governance.

President Abdourahamane Tiani urges the National Council for the Safeguarding of the Homeland, the Government, and the members of the Commission to Combat Economic, Financial, and Tax-related Crime to work tirelessly, keeping in mind only the noble mission of defending Niger’s interests.

The seizure of power by the CNSP authorities is motivated solely by the desire to preserve Niger, faced with the ongoing deterioration of the security situation and economic and social mismanagement.

Brigadier General Abdourahamane Tiani solemnly pledged to give substance to the aspirations of the Nigerien people, to never betray their aspirations, particularly those for a better life within Niger and the sub-region.
