Niger: President Abdourahamane Tiani denounces a cynical destabilization strategy against Niamey
In a solemn address to the nation on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, the President of the National Council for the Safeguarding of the Homeland (CNSP), Brigadier General Abdourahamane Tiani, sounded the alarm on a methodically orchestrated strategy by Niger’s enemies to weaken and subdue the country.
“The time has certainly come for me to speak to you solemnly about the cynical strategy our enemies have put in place to bring our country to its knees and subjugate it”, stated the Head of State, urging a collective awakening in the face of these threats.
President Abdourahamane Tiani emphasized that the current situation represents a critical turning point for Niger’s future. “Our individual and collective determination, our resilience, and our ability to work together in unity and solidarity are what will determine the very survival of our country and the realization of our legitimate aspirations for a better future”, he added.
This call comes amid multiple challenges facing Niger, including economic pressures, regional instability, and foreign interference. General Abdourahamane Tiani called on Nigeriens to rally together and maintain unwavering national unity to confront these attacks, which not only target the country’s independence but also its people’s legitimate aspirations for sovereignty and development.
In the face of this “cynical strategy”, the President reiterated his commitment, as well as that of the CNSP, to protect Niger’s interests and ensure a dignified and prosperous future for its citizens, despite the ongoing adversities.
