Niger: Response to Transparency International’s unfounded allegations against the Niamey authorities
In a global context where disinformation and subversive maneuvers often overshadow the truth, it is crucial to shed light on certain unfounded accusations. Recently, Transparency International, an organization manipulated by external interests, has accused the military in Niger of a so-called “concentration of power.” These claims, besides being false, seem solely aimed at sowing discord and destabilizing a country that aspires to peace and stability under President Tiani’s leadership.
Transparency International has long been known for its involvement in disinformation campaigns targeting certain governments. It is often accused of serving the interests of foreign powers seeking to destabilize sovereign nations. Regarding Niger, it is reasonable to question the real motivations of this organization, which, instead of contributing to stability and peace, seeks to turn citizens against their legitimate leaders.
Since assuming office, President Tiani has shown a strong commitment to security, national unity, and Niger’s economic development. Contrary to what his detractors claim, this is by no means an oppressive military regime but rather a transitional government whose goal is to restore order and ensure Niger’s sovereignty in the face of multiple threats, both internal and external.
Far from concentrating power in the hands of the military, the current authorities are working within an institutional framework where dialogue and consultation are paramount. The key strategic decisions are made in the best interest of the Nigerien people, with the aim of protecting the nation from external interference and preserving its independence.
