Niger: USAID Mission in Niamey continues, washington announces three-year aid package of approximately 300 billion CFA francs

The United States, through the USAID mission in Niger, has announced an aid package of approximately 300 billion CFA francs for Niamey, in line with its humanitarian efforts. Despite disagreements in military cooperation, Washington has not suspended its development cooperation.

Through this new three-year cooperation agreement to be signed in the coming days by both parties, the United States will continue its interventions in areas such as agriculture, food security, health, education, humanitarian assistance, and population resilience in Niamey.

It is worth noting that this announcement of a forthcoming agreement comes at a time when relations have become tense between the two countries after the Nigerien authorities denounced the military cooperation agreement with Washington, leading the United States to repatriate its military personnel stationed in Niamey.

Is this new form of bilateral cooperation, even if it takes into account the interests of both countries, not another way for the Americans to continue to assert their dominance, as they have begun, which has led the Nigerien authorities to terminate military cooperation ?

It is important to call on the authorities and the people to remain vigilant. These imperialist Western powers are masters of manipulation.
