Sahel / AES Summit in Niamey: President Ibrahim Traoré reaffirms his commitment to the common cause
At the first summit of the heads of state of the Alliance of Sahel States (AES) held in Niamey, Niger, President Ibrahim Traoré, alongside his counterparts from Mali, Colonel Assimi Goïta, and Niger, General Abdourahamane Tiani, reaffirmed his commitment and determination to the AES cause.
Despite the manipulation and disinformation propagated by the enemies of the people, Captain Ibrahim Traoré firmly declared, “We will not tremble; we will confront”.
This summit, marked by renewed solidarity within the common space, provided an opportunity for the President of Faso to emphasize that the commitment leading to the creation of the AES on September 16, 2023, will never waver. Captain Ibrahim Traoré urged the peoples of the Alliance to always prioritize the superior interest of the member countries and the AES.
In the same spirit, the President of the Republic of Mali, Colonel Assimi Goïta, reminded that the signing of the Liptako-Gourma Charter had sealed the collective decision of the heads of state to fight against terrorism. This charter symbolizes a strong pact between the countries to strengthen their cooperation and resilience in the face of common security challenges.
The Niamey summit was thus a crucial step to reaffirm the AES leaders’ determination to protect the interests of their peoples and strengthen their unity against threats with fearlessness, determination, and unwavering commitment.
