Sport : Arsenal envisage « emprunter » Karim Benzema

According to certain sources, Arsène Wenger has recently urged Arsenal to sign Karim Benzema as they seek a new striker in January. The English club is reportedly considering a sensational move to bring in Karim Benzema on a short-term loan.

Following his health issue in Saudi Arabia, the former French international is set to leave Al Ittihad after missing six consecutive training sessions with the club.

Gabriel Jesus, Eddie Nketiah, and Kai Havertz have yet to convince when given the opportunity to take on leading roles in the 2023-24 campaign, which still holds much promise for the Gunners.

According to information from TEAMtalk, Mikel Arteta is contemplating a bold move for former French international Karim Benzema. The 36-year-old player won the Ballon d’Or in 2022 before leaving European football to join former Real Madrid teammate Cristiano Ronaldo in the Middle East.

Manchester United has also been linked with Benzema, although an approach is considered unlikely, while Chelsea is another team in search of a proven number 9. They could represent the biggest threat to Arsenal’s London rivals if a deal is reached for the Ballon d’Or winner.
