Gerard Piqué will soon be back on the field, but this time as a coach. The former FC Barcelona player has announced his decision to return to the world of football, which he has missed greatly, in a message posted on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter).
« It’s a new year, and after careful consideration, I’ve decided to return to football. I miss it a lot. This time, it won’t be as a player. It will be as a coach. I will give you more details by the end of the week », posted Gerard Piqué, who retired from professional football in November 2022.
Even after his retirement, the former Spanish international remained closely connected to the sport. In 2018, he acquired the Spanish club FC Andorra through his company Kosmos Holding while still playing for FC Barcelona. Under his guidance, the team experienced a remarkable rise from the fifth to the second division.
Currently, the former captain of FC Barcelona has not provided further details about the next steps in his career, but he has promised to share more information by the end of the week.
