Sport/The 19th stage of the Giro will arrive at Lisa Vittozzi’s place
While the winner of the biathlon World Cup finishes her vacation, her hometown of Sappada is preparing to host the 19th stage of the Giro.
Better yet, the major cycling race will simply pass in front of the Carnia Biathlon Arena, where Lisa Vittozzi trains very often, located only 10 kilometers from the finish line.
The arrival of the Giro in Sappada is perfectly timed to salute her performances with a stage that promises to be very lively.
The first 100 kilometers are almost flat, but the following 57 leave very little respite. There is first the short but very tough Passo Duron (2nd cat., 4.4 km at 9.6%), followed by the ascents of Sella Valcalda (3rd cat., 6.5 km at 5.9%) and Cima Sappada (2nd cat., 7.4 km at 5.4%).
It is in this last ascent that the riders will pass by the Carnia Biathlon Arena. The most difficult part of the climb will then stand before them. The final 2.8 kilometers have an average gradient of 8.5%.
Lisa Vittozzi will obviously be present at the finish of this stage. Her fans and all cycling enthusiasts will not fail to give her another ovation before seeing Tadej Pogacar and his rivals battle it out.
