Sports: Women’s Handball / Reynaldo Mazzoli leaves CL Colombelles
Reynaldo Mazzoli will bid farewell to CL Colombelles at the end of the season. The Calvados handball club, currently ninth in the Women’s National 1, will welcome a new coach in a few weeks as Mazzoli decides to step down from his role after seven years as coach of the team.
Reynaldo Mazzoli will no longer be the coach of CL Colombelles next season. After spending seven years at the helm of the first team of Club Laïque Colombelles Handball, the successor to Jean-Baptiste Martin announced that he will leave his coaching duties at the end of the season, without further comment.
For now, no official information has been provided by the club’s management, although an announcement is expected to be made soon. A native of Eure, the former coach of Octeville arrived in Colombelles with the firm intention of making a long-term commitment and enabling the club to aim higher.
One of his priorities was to rely on local training and to “build a pathway” for young players in the region.
Mission accomplished as the team has managed to obtain labels awarded by the French Handball Federation, particularly regarding player development, as well as referees.
Even though, from a sporting perspective, the coach did not manage to lead the club to the second division, it must be acknowledged that Colombelles is now an essential team in the Normandy handball landscape.
