China strengthens educational and agricultural cooperation with Mali

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi discussed on Friday with his Malian counterpart, Abdoulaye Diop, affirming the commitment to enhance cooperation between China and Mali in the fields of education, training, healthcare, and agriculture.

Mr. Wang emphasized that the friendship between China and Mali has been forged by previous generations of leaders from both countries. He assured that China fully understands and respects Mali’s independent choices and never interferes in the internal affairs of other countries. He expressed the belief that Mali has the wisdom and capacity required to overcome temporary difficulties and achieve independent national development and progress.

The Chinese are ready to step up cooperation with Mali to provide firm mutual support, jointly protect the legitimate rights and interests of developing countries, and uphold the basic norms governing international relations, Mr. Wang added.

Both ministers highlighted the long history of friendship between China and Mali, sharing similar positions on significant principle matters. Mr. Diop described China as a reliable friend and partner of Mali, expressing Mali’s respect for the One-China principle. He also expressed the hope to enhance mutually beneficial cooperation and learn from China’s successful development experience.
