Success of Burkinabe Security Forces: Neutralization of Terrorist Groups Planning Attacks on Supply Convoy
A group of terrorists had planned an attack on a supply convoy to the city of Djibo on December 6, 2023. The instigators of this threat were caught off guard and targeted by air strikes. At the same time, the engaged forces also conducted other simultaneous operations.
On December 5, research led to the discovery of a group of terrorists in a forest near Pensa. This group, too, was closely monitored. Another group joined them, but the effectiveness of the means of the Burkinabe army made it possible to neutralize them successfully.
A meeting planned under a large tree involving several terrorists coming in pairs was also detected. They suffered the same fate as the previous ones. Later in the afternoon, another group was spotted near Mentao, sharing the same objective of disrupting the supply convoy.
These additional terrorists had parked their vehicles under tall trees to walk to a building. However, strikes took them by surprise. After these successes, reported by the national television (RTB), it was announced that the convoy was finally able to continue its journey to Djibo, bringing relief to the local populations. Security operations are continuing.
