Togo: A strategic tool to boost Togo’s foreign trade
President Faure GnassingbĂ©’s vision to position Togo as an attractive hub for investment is based on reforms and concrete tools aimed at creating a dynamic and competitive business climate. The recent launch of the updated version of the Exporter’s Guide by the Ministry of Commerce, with the support of German cooperation (GIZ), illustrates this commitment. This manual, designed to assist businesses in their export processes, lists stakeholders in the agribusiness sector while providing technical and regulatory information tailored to the demands of international trade.
This strategic tool enhances the competitiveness of Togolese products in both global and regional markets, particularly within the framework of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), which offers opportunities for a market of 1.3 billion consumers. In line with this momentum, Togo reaffirms its ambition to modernize its foreign trade and position its economic operators as key players in trade exchanges across the continent.
The Minister of Commerce, Rose Kayi Mivedor-Sambiani, praised the expected impact of this initiative, stating that it would help revitalize business activities and increase the visibility of exported products. This guide, reflecting President Faure Gnassingbé’s strategic vision, once again illustrates Togo’s commitment to inclusive and sustainable development focused on the growth of key economic sectors.
