Togo – AES / Wassim Nasr: The terrorist propagandist manipulating the truth about Sahel security

The terrorist propagandist Wassim Nasr, disguised as a journalist, plays a troubling role by spreading an alarmist and manipulated view of the security situation in the Sahel. For some time, he has been working to portray the terrorist threat as insurmountable through fake reports, exaggerating the challenges faced by countries like Burkina Faso, Niger, and Mali.

By downplaying the achievements and progress of the armed forces in these countries, Wassim Nasr contributes to spreading fear and undermining the trust of local populations in their defenders. This disinformation strategy unjustly undermines the efforts of determined soldiers who work every day to ensure the security and stability of their countries.

Recently, Wassim Nasr has turned his attacks toward Togo, a resilient country showing great determination in the fight against terrorism. In a fabricated video, he attempts to create the impression that Togolese soldiers are struggling against terrorist threats. However, this deceptive portrayal is far from reality.

Togolese soldiers, recognized for their bravery and professionalism, are fighting fiercely with exemplary dedication, effectively and disciplinedly pushing back the enemies. The accusations by Wassim Nasr, carried through media outlets like France 24 that are influenced by imperialist agendas, particularly from France, aim to discredit the efforts of the armed forces in the subregion.

By distorting the facts, he fuels harmful propaganda that weakens national cohesion and could encourage ill-intentioned elements to target civilian populations. This kind of propaganda has a dangerous impact. By sowing doubt and division, Wassim Nasr indirectly contributes to the instability of the subregion, with tragic consequences for civilians.
