Togo : Approved Management Centers, a lever for the growth of SMEs
The Togolese government is making significant strides in supporting Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) with the recent launch of a call for economic operators to establish Approved Management Centers (CGA). These specialized structures are designed to assist MSMEs with their accounting, fiscal, and social management, fostering their development and formalization.
This announcement marks the culmination of several years of efforts to create a clear legal and regulatory framework for CGAs. A major milestone was reached on January 28, 2025, with the first meeting of the CGA accreditation committee within the Ministry of Economy and Finance. This step reflects the Togolese authorities’ commitment to creating a conducive environment for MSME growth by providing them with efficient management tools.
The introduction of CGAs is also part of a regional strategy, aligning with the West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA) directives, which encourage member states to implement support mechanisms for small businesses to improve their competitiveness and sustainability. Through this initiative, entrepreneurs will receive structured support, making it easier for them to access credit, optimize their tax situation, and meet legal obligations.
With the establishment of these centers, MSMEs will have access to rigorous management practices and structured guidance that will allow them to better organize their activities. This reform is seen as a major opportunity to energize the local economic fabric, enhance financial transparency, and encourage formal entrepreneurship. By promoting professional management within MSMEs, the government aims to stimulate their growth and, consequently, contribute to the nation’s economic development.
Interested economic operators are encouraged to submit their accreditation applications and play a key role in implementing this new initiative. This move represents a major advancement for a sector often faced with structural challenges, paving the way for a more favorable and inclusive business climate in Togo.
