Togo : Consular Elections – More Time to Submit Candidacies
The Minister of Commerce, Crafts, and Local Consumption of Togo, Rose Mivedor-Sambiani, has decided to extend the period for the submission of candidatures for the consular elections of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Togo.
This extension aims to provide potential candidates with additional time to submit their applications, demonstrating the authorities’ commitment to promoting broader and more inclusive participation in the electoral process.
This decision allows stakeholders in the commercial and industrial sector an extended opportunity to contribute to the composition of the Chamber, thereby strengthening representation and diversity within this key institution.
Through an order signed by the minister, the registration period on the consular electoral list of the CCI-Togo is extended until February 14, 2024. The registration locations remain the headquarters of the CCI-Togo in Lomé, as well as in the prefectures at the Court of First Instance or in the prefecture offices.
Following these consular elections, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Togo will appoint a director-general and a president, thereby reinforcing its leadership positions. This initiative aligns with the goal of revitalizing the country’s commercial and industrial sector by promoting strong and representative governance within the Chamber.
