Togo/Cuba: A historic meeting to affirm solidarity and international cooperation

Since Monday, December 9, Togolese diplomat Robert Dussey has been on an official visit to Cuba. As the bearer of a message from President Faure Gnassingbé, Robert Dussey will have the opportunity to emphasize the importance of the historical ties between Togo and Cuba.

This visit is part of the international conference on the Decade of People of African Descent, a major global event aimed at promoting the rights, recognition, and equality of people of African origin worldwide.

The meeting is also an opportune moment to discuss new areas of cooperation and deepen bilateral relations between the two nations in strategic sectors such as health, culture, vocational training, and agriculture.

Diplomatic relations between Togo and Cuba, established 45 years ago, have evolved over time and have been enriched by joint projects that directly benefit both peoples. Exchanges in the fields of medicine, youth training, and culture reflect the spirit of solidarity and cooperation that exists between the two countries.
