As part of its strategy to modernize public services and improve the business climate, the Arbitration Court of Togo (CATO) has officially launched a digital platform to streamline its conciliation and arbitration procedures for commercial disputes. This development marks a new step in the Togolese government’s commitment to making digital technology a core element of its development.

Thanks to this innovative interface, businesses and individuals can now submit their requests directly and remotely, simplifying the process. The Minister of Commerce, Rose Kayi Mivedor, praised the initiative, stating that it represents a significant step toward the complete digitalization of arbitration procedures, from case filing to the delivery of rulings. She even noted that arbitration can now be conducted entirely online, enhancing both the speed and transparency of case handling.

This modernization will not only accelerate dispute resolution processes but also strengthen security and trust in Togo’s legal business framework. José Kwassi Symenouh, president of the Togolese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI-T), added that this initiative represents a significant improvement in the business climate, encouraging economic operators and investors to favor Togo as a destination for their activities.

The digitalization of CATO’s services aligns with the broader vision of the Togolese authorities, who aim to digitalize 75% of administrative procedures by 2025. This approach reflects Togo’s commitment to integrating new technologies into its economic and social development.

The government is betting on digital technology to simplify interactions between the administration and citizens, improve transparency, and increase the efficiency of public services. With this initiative, Togo reaffirms its ambition to become a model for digital transformation in West Africa.
