Togo : Faure Gnassingbé realizing his vision to make Togo a « Premier Logistics Hub »

President Faure Gnassingbé, in line with his policy of major construction and rehabilitation projects for the road network, had announced for the year 2024, the implementation of road development and asphalt works. These works, which will start imminently and be executed by the relevant ministerial department, are part of the Togolese government’s ongoing social policy.

These development and asphalt works concern the Akonta-Fazao-Tchatchako stretch between the Plateaux and Central regions, spanning 49 km, as well as the road networks of Notsè and Mango, each stretching 5 km.

According to the ministry, these projects are part of the plan to pave 180 km of roads under construction and finance the development and asphalt works for nearly 206 km of roads across the national territory in 2024. These works are expected to continue into 2025 and beyond.

The government plans to invest 84 billion CFA francs in these projects, which aim to improve traffic flow. Furthermore, the goal for president Faure Gnassingbé  is to transform the country into a « Premier Logistics Hub, a leading business center » and a significant corridor for landlocked countries.
