Additionally, there is an annex building, also two stories high, with 44 shops and 128 sales spaces. These facilities aim not only to meet the needs of local merchants but also to invigorate the regional economy by providing an environment conducive to commercial activity.

Special attention has been given to the economic empowerment of women, who are a vital force in the region’s trade. By providing modern and functional spaces, this central market supports female entrepreneurship and promotes their economic inclusion. This reflects the government’s commitment to fostering equitable and sustainable development, where women play a key role in national prosperity.

President Faure Gnassingbé praised the efforts of the various stakeholders involved in the realization of this project, reiterating his administration’s commitment to continuing similar initiatives across the country. With the opening of this infrastructure, Sokodé positions itself as a major commercial hub, attracting not only local merchants but also those from neighboring regions. This achievement marks a significant step forward in improving the living conditions of the population and promoting economic resilience in Togo.
