Togo: Health for all, the government launches the «One Health» platform
The Togolese authorities opt for the pooling of human, animal and environmental health sectors. An approach that brings together this corpus was launched on Tuesday, August 29, 2023, in the presence of ministers from three key sectors linked to this project.Born in the early 2000, the «One Health» approach, is taking its mark in Togo in order to better prevent and detect emerging public health threats and emergencies and respond to them effectively.
The concept was officially launched on Tuesday by the Minister of Health, Professor Moustafa MIJIYAWA, with his colleagues Affoh Atcha DEDJI and Foli-Bazi Katari, respectively Minister of Road, Air and Rail Transport and of the Environment and resourcesforestry.
The «One Heath» platform is entering its active phase in Togo thanks to the alignment of the Togolese government with its partners, notably the World Bank, Unicef and the WHO. It is piloted by the Regional Project to Strengthen the Disease Surveillance System in Togo.
Established in Togo by interministerial decree No. 024/MSHPAUS/MERF/MAEDR dated June 14, 2023, the «One Health» platform aims to promote an integrated, systemic and unified approach to public, animal and environmental health, local, national and global scales.
