Togo : International History Festival of Aného (FIHA) – when history, culture, and tourism bring people together

For the third time, the International History Festival of Aného (FIHA) returns with new dimensions and colors, especially with Turkey as the guest of honor. Under the theme « Discoveries », FIHA, beyond celebrating this year the fruitful cooperation between Togo and Turkey on one hand, and Turkey and Africa on the other hand, will explore the cultural, religious, and artistic dimensions of Turkey.

« The relations between Turkey and Africa have gained considerable momentum over the last decade », says Muteber Kiliç, Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey. She adds, « We are pleased to be able to showcase our culture to festival-goers through various colorful performances. Our embassy will make efforts to strengthen our friendship and cooperation between Turkey and Togo ».

This cultural and historical rendezvous scheduled from November 14th to 17th, 2024, aims to present Aného as a three-century-old city, a hub of cultural and tourist attraction for the hundreds of expected visitors.

The particularity of this 3rd edition is the organization of an economic forum.

The Togo-Turkey Economic Forum will bring together Turkish and Togolese economic operators from small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

On the festive side, the program includes an Aného carnival, cultural rituals, typical songs, and ancestral dances. Representatives from Brazil and the Caribbean will also participate in this international meeting of culture, history, and deities.
