Togo: Lomé hosts the 3ᵉ edition of the Slam World Cup

Togo is hosting the 3rd edition of the Slam World Cup from November 12 to 18, 2024. Centered around the theme “Professionalizing the Global Slam Scene in Togo”, this edition is held under the high patronage of the Togolese President and brings together 26 countries in Lomé, with 22 delegations physically present and 4 participating online.

<This grand celebration of words will feature various workshops, masterclasses, performances, and competitions, open to the entire Togolese population. More than just an artistic competition, this event aims to be a true space for free expression, the exchange of ideas, and intercultural encounters.

It seeks to strengthen the position of slam on the international artistic scene, while providing a platform for young talents to express their realities, aspirations, and hopes.

Over the course of the week, participants will not only compete in a spirit of healthy emulation, but also exchange experiences and techniques, contributing to the global visibility of slam as a tool for popular expression and social engagement.

This edition will mark a turning point in the professionalization of artists and in the recognition of slam as a fully-fledged discipline.

At the same time, training sessions will be organized to encourage young Togolese to engage in the art of slam, further establishing Lomé as a cultural hub of inspiration for the entire regions.
