TOGO: Miss Epé-Ekpé 2023, the grand final this weekend
The climax of the Miss Epé-Ekpé 2023 election will take place on 9 September in Aného in the Lacs prefecture. The evening will be held in conjunction with the 350 edition of the Epé Ekpé sacred stone ceremony in Guin country.
15 shortlisted candidates are vying to take the crown and succeed last year’s Epé Ekpé beauty queen, Bétiwa Johnson. To do so, they will have to demonstrate their culinary, dance and other Guin-Mina traditions.
In addition to a scholarship, this year’s Miss Epé-Ekpé 2023 will receive a number of other prizes. The two runners-up will also receive several prizes.
The Miss Epé Ekpé competition, an initiative of young people from the four communes of the Lacs Regions, aims to highlight the cultural wealth of the locality.
«The show, which will last just over 2 hours, will offer an immersive experience, combining variety, originality and tradition, while highlighting the rich cultural heritage of the Guin Mina people. The contestants will play an active role in staging the show, harmoniously blending tradition and modernity to offer the audience a captivating performance» announced Kangni Enyonam Agbemadji, Chairman of the Organising Committee.
