Togo: Pascal Bodjona back in business asks to be “kept in prayers”
Back in the favor of President Faure Gnassingbé, former minister and government spokesperson Pascal Bodjona has been given a new position of responsibility at the Presidency. Since December 29, the former inmate of the Tsévié civil prison has been appointed as Special Advisor to Faure Gnassingbé, in charge of political affairs for the Head of State.
This surprising appointment has not failed to stir reactions within the public opinion.
During a celebration last weekend in Lomé, Faure Gnassingbé’s former right-hand man spoke about his new role at the Togolese presidency as a Special Advisor in charge of political affairs.
« I would like to ask you to keep me in your prayers so that I can, to the best of my abilities, assist Mr. President in his noble expectation but also in this difficult mission of leading the Togolese people and this country towards a better future. I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart », said Faure Gnassingbé in front of the Kidjang community.
The Kidjang community is an association of individuals from the cantons of Kozah, Kouméa, and Landa. They gathered at the former Minister of State’s residence to express their gratitude to Faure Gnassingbé for the official rehabilitation of Pascal Bodjona through his appointment as Special Advisor.
« We want to sincerely thank him for renewing this trust in our brother so that he can successfully lead this country » , said the spokesperson for the Kidjang community, describing it as a spontaneous mobilization.
