Togo: President Faure Gnassingbé strengthens strategic partnerships for an emerging country

President Faure Essozimna Gnassingbé continues to lay the foundations for an emerging Togo by leveraging strategic partnerships.

During an official meeting on Tuesday, November 19, in Lomé with Coumba Sow, the new United Nations (UN) Resident Coordinator in Togo, discussions focused on national development priorities and strengthening cooperation with the UN.

This exchange marks a new dynamic in the collaboration between Togo and UN agencies to accelerate the implementation of key projects.

Coumba Sow reaffirmed the UN system’s commitment to supporting Togo in its sustainable development ambitions. She highlighted the country’s importance in UN actions and promised to enhance ongoing programs to maximize their impact.

“We will work to be more effective and efficient in our support”, she stated, emphasizing a shared vision to support the country’s socio-economic transformation.

This meeting once again illustrates President Faure Gnassingbé’s determination to mobilize international partners to realize Togo’s aspirations. Through a strengthened collaboration with the UN system, the Togolese government is solidifying its development strategy to meet the needs of its population and position Togo as a success model in Africa.
