TOGO : President Faure Gnassingbé visited Oyo at the invitation of his counterpart Dénis Sassou N’guesso

President Faure Essozimna Gnassingbé made a round trip to Oyo, Republic of the Congo, on December 12. The President responded to an invitation from his counterpart, Denis Sassou N’Guesso.

According to the Togolese Presidency, the brief visit of the Togolese President is part of the regular consultations between the two Heads of State.

President Faure Gnassingbé took the opportunity of his visit to Oyo to discuss economic partnership issues, particularly in the port sector, with Denis Sassou N’Guesso.

It is also reported that the two leaders discussed matters of common interest at the regional, continental, and international levels, particularly in the areas of peace, security, and the environment.

Faure Gnassingbé had visited Oyo on November 7. Additionally, he had a one-on-one meeting with Denis Sassou N’Guesso on December 3 in Dubai, on the occasion of the 28th edition of the Conference of the Parties on climate (COP28).

Togo and Congo maintain friendly and cooperative relations in various fields, reflected in frequent exchanges.
