Togo: President Faure Gnassingbé’s comprehensive strategy, enhanced security and social progress
President Faure Gnassingbé has made the fight against terrorism and the improvement of social services two inseparable priorities. The Togolese head of state has established robust mechanisms and is constantly implementing effective measures to combat terrorism.
President Gnassingbé addresses both the root causes and the direct manifestations of this scourge, refusing to let it fester within society. The measures deployed include strengthening security at both official and unofficial borders, regional and international cooperation, intelligence and surveillance, and the active mobilization of defense forces.
Investing in the enhancement of intelligence and surveillance capabilities has allowed for early detection and prevention of terrorist activities on Togolese soil. Additionally, awareness campaigns are organized to inform the population about terrorism and the measures to adopt in the face of potential threats.
President Faure Gnassingbé encourages the citizens to demonstrate civic responsibility and actively participate in this fight. Concurrently, the President strives to improve social services to meet the fundamental needs of citizens and reduce vulnerabilities exploited by terrorists.
