TOGO/ Road safety : BB Lomé launches a campaign to adjust lighthouses for the benefit of users

The control and adjustment of a vehicle’s headlights are crucial to prevent accidents on our roads. Aware of the risks posed by a vehicle with faulty headlights, Brasserie BB has decided to contribute. Thus, they have initiated a campaign aimed at ensuring the control of vehicle headlights in collaboration with the Togolese Road Safety (PRT).

As part of the headlight adjustment and control campaign, vehicles belonging to BB Lomé’s staff and service have undergone this operation to ensure better visibility at night. The vehicles pass in front of the “réglo scope,” monitored by a PRT technician who provides instructions to the driver.

According to Essowe Kawale, a technician at PRT, this activity aims to adjust headlights to facilitate nighttime traffic and avoid dazzling oncoming road users. However, this adjustment does not replace the mandatory technical inspection.

This operation is part of the company’s involvement, for several years, in preserving the safety and health of its personnel, as well as other stakeholders exposed to road risks.

« The BB Lomé has set the goal of zero accidents for several years, not only on-site but also outside, involving the company’s image and responsibility. This three-day operation concludes the awareness campaign on road safety organized by BB Lomé for its staff at the end of 2023 », said Eli Ekue Afanou, a member of the Health and Safety Committee at BB Lomé. This operation, considered essential by the staff, is hailed as a crucial measure for safety.

BB Lomé’s initiative follows the awareness campaign launched since December 18, 2023, under the theme: « Sobriety & Vigilance on the road». It began with the dissemination of visuals, spots, and SMS messages on road safety, as well as the application of self-reflective stickers on vehicles and motorcycles.

This headlight control and adjustment operation, which started on January 8, continues until January 10, 2024, with more than 300 vehicles and 100 motorcycles undergoing this process.
