Togo: Minister Robert Dussey testifies to the country’s good diplomacy with the BRICS

At the 15th annual summit of BRICS member states (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) held in Johannesburg from August 22 to 24, Faure Gnassingbé’s country had the opportunity to reap significant benefits thanks to the clever diplomacy of Professor Robert Dussey, Togo’s Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Indeed, Togo’s participation in this major international event was made possible thanks to the representation of Minister Robert Dussey, acting as representative of the Head of State, Faure Gnassingbé. This presence demonstrates the importance Togo attaches to international relations and the establishment of strategic partnerships.

The central theme of the summit, «BRICS and Africa: Partnership for mutually accelerated growth, sustainable development and inclusive multilateralism» underlines the importance of strengthened cooperation between the BRICS and African countries. Togo’s presence at this event reflects its desire to participate actively in discussions aimed at promoting mutually beneficial and sustainable development.

Robert Dussey’s clever diplomacy allowed Togo to engage in constructive exchanges with the leaders of the BRICS member states, as well as with representatives of invited nations. By participating in these international discussions, Togo was able to put forward its interests, share its perspectives on global issues and strengthen its ties with key partners. This, in turn, reinforced the country’s international visibility as a committed player on the world stage.

Prof. Robert Dussey’s participation in this summit, representing the head of State with dignity, also provides the country with a platform to promote its economic and diplomatic interests, while seeking to establish partnerships that could support the country’s development.
