Togo : The country emphasizes agricultural modernization during the 2nd edition of FoPAT

Togo hosts the second edition of the Agricultural Producers’ Forums (FoPAT) from March 11th to April 12th, 2024, across the country’s five economic regions. Under the theme « Together for the Modernization of the Agricultural Sector », these meetings bring together farmers and authorities to discuss the challenges and opportunities for agricultural development.

The first stage of this edition will take place in the Maritime region, in Tsévié, where stakeholders in the agricultural chain will gather for two days. Discussions will focus on the crucial role of agriculture in the country’s economic development, as well as the impact of FoPAT since their inception.

In addition to exchanges among agricultural stakeholders, a highlight is planned with a grand closing speech in the presence of the President of the Republic. This will provide producers with the opportunity to directly address their concerns and contributions to Togo’s agricultural development.

These forums are initiated by the Ministry of Agriculture with the aim of further involving producers in the implementation of agricultural development projects and programs in the country.
